All Lower East Side residents are eligible to join GOLES. Additionally, all those displaced from the Lower East Side by urban renewal, gentrification, or a crooked landlord are eligible to join GOLES.

Being a member means being a sentinel and a watchdog for our neighborhood. A GOLES member has responsibility, honor, and an extended family throughout the neighborhood.

Dues are $10 dollars a year. Youth and senior dues are $5 dollars a year. Paying dues guarantees your right to vote in GOLES steering committee meetings and also include a nifty GOLES membership card. Membership must be renewed annually every September.

Everyone is welcome to volunteer in our struggle. Typical volunteer tasks include data entry, phonebanking, action prep, and logistical work.

Seeking job experience as a community organizer or looking to fight for our neighborhood? Consider applying for a 4-month internship with GOLES.
